SanDisk Releases 4GB Memory Stick Micro Card

SanDisk has announced the release of its 4 GB Memory Stick Micro (M2) card. The card holds up to 1,000 MP3 songs, 9,600 photos or 20 hours of MPEG4 video, according to the release.

“Music, video, photos, games—these are the types of content driving the need for higher capacity cards such as the 4GB M2,” said Jeff Kost, vice president and general manager of the Mobile Consumer Solutions division at SanDisk, in a press release. “This trend is expected to grow as consumers embrace the mobile lifestyle and demand more storage-intensive features from a single mobile device.”

The M2 card measures 0.59” x 0.49” x 0.05” and is compatible with devices that have Memory Stick PRO Duo slots and mobile phones with an M2 slot, according to the release. The card has a suggested retail price of $112 USD. It is already available worldwide at consumer electronics outlets.
