“There’s no truth to this – Sony is committed to the Alpha DSLR system and its expansion – cameras, lenses and accessories and the Minolta heritage which they share,” wrote Mark Weir, senior technology and marketing manager for Alpha and Cyber-shot.
Sony announced its new Alpha DSLR system with Konica Minolta in 2005, a concept model displayed at PMA this year. Weir states that although Sony cannot release any details on the pending DSLR, the models are on schedule and the company is interested in hearing customers' opinions.
“We are particularly sensitive to the voices of Minolta users as we look forward to their acceptance of Alpha as a strong continuation of Minolta’s prestigious heritage,” Weir wrote.
